The Pet Pantry program was created to support Northern Oklahoma Residents in caring for their pets by providing free pet food to those who indicate a financial hardship and meet income guidelines to receive short-term help for their pet. The food distributed is intended to temporarily supplement the pet’s monthly food needs. The program is not intended to be a permanent source of pet food.
The Pet Pantry's mission is to distribute pet food to families in need in order to keep pets and their families together in times of hardship and ensures that people who love their animal companions don’t have to choose between feeding their pets and feeding themselves.
How does it work?
The Northern Oklahoma Pet Pantry is open to any pet owner who is a resident of Northern Oklahoma (Kay County & Western Oklahoma) and wishes to receive temporary pet food assistance for their pet. Pet owners will be asked to complete an enrollment form and bring proof of residency (photo I.D. and recent utility bill) the first time they come to pick up food. After enrolling the first time, the pet owner will only need to provide their photo I.D. when picking up pet food.
The Pet Pantry operates on a regular schedule, with designated days and times, where pet owners can show up to pick up food for their animals once enrolled. The pantry is not able to provide food to pet owners who arrive outside of these timeframes. Pet owners can come to the Humane Society on Wednesday - Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. to pick up pet food when available.
