Check out our adoptable animals online or in person. We accept walk in appointments or call (580) 767-8877 to schedule an appointment. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age with a current photo ID. Adopters must have the resources to spend time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment, and proper care for your new family member. Owning a pet is a lifelong commitment.

Please let our adoption counselors know which animals you would like to meet. We encourage visits from all members of the household, especially children and other dogs.

HOLD

You can put the pet on hold for 24-hours after meeting them. Once you've made your decision, we can complete the adoption. If you are still unsure but would like to try a visit with the pet in your home, we offer a foster-to-adopt option. This will allow you a trial period to ensure this is a good fit between you and the pet.

Adoption Fees:

​Adoption fees vary and are posted below each individual listing.

(Note: There is $5 processing fee on all adoptions.)

​Adoption fees help NOKHS to cover a portion of the cost of each animal’s medical care, food, and housing during their stay with us. 

 

Discounts/Programs: 

Golden Pet Program- This adoption program matches a perfect golden furry friend to seniors who want to enjoy and love a mature pet without all the energy and training involved with adopting a young active pet. This program offers a 60% discounted adoption fee to adopters that are age 60 and up, and who are adopting a senior pet (6+ years old).  ​

 

Buddy Adoption- Get a friend for your pet! Adopt two pets at the same time or adopt another pet within one year of the first adoption and receive a 50% discount on the second adoption fee.

Lonely Hearts Club- Occasionally there are animals in our care who wait longer than most for a new home. Despite being wonderful pets, they are overlooked by potential adopters and their stay is extended with us. We know how special these animals are and once you meet them, you will too.  The adoption fee is only $25 for these special animals that have been available for adoption at the shelter for 100 days or more, in order to encourage adoptions of these furry friends.
